Your responsibilities

thyssenkrupp Elevator Corporation is seeking a Manager of Internal Communication for its Germantown, TN office. Grow employee engagement and encourage acceptance of corporate strategy by working with business leaders and company stakeholders.  Ensure employees are kept informed and motivated through effective communications via multiple channels, including intranet, email bulletins, newsletters, videos, etc.

 

  • Coordinate with business leaders to develop and implement an internal communications strategy around major projects and initiatives
  • Ensure organizational initiatives and projects are successfully communicated with measurable KPIs and increasing engagement rates
  • Create content, including writing and design, for a variety of internal communications mediums, such as intranet, quarterly and weekly newsletters, videos and email bulletins
  • Keep internal business partners abreast of progress
  • Deliver presentations to senior management
  • Occasionally draft messages or scripts from senior executives for presentation to employees in written or spoken form
  • Ensure messages are consistent with global branding guidelines and strategy as well as business area, business unit and operating unit strategy across all mediums
  • Ensure messages are consistent with external communication strategy
  • Respond to feedback from business stakeholders and staff and adjust communications content accordingly
  • Plan, coordinate and execute sales, leadership and customer events from start to finish

Your profile

  • Bachelor’s degree journalism, communications, public relations or marketing required
  • Minimum 7 years’ experience in marketing and communication ideally with a focus on internal communications and employee engagement
  • Demonstrated copy-writing, editing and graphics design skills
  • Excellent portfolio demonstrating design abilities (applicants without portfolios will not be considered)
  • Proficiency is PC based Adobe Creative Suite 6 (or later)
  • Writing skills: Excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills as well as the journalistic ability to source stories from employees
  • Speaking skills: Strong speaking skills and sensitivity to the organization’s goals and values and the ability to relay them to employees
  • Interpersonal skills: Good interpersonal and relationship-building skills to effectively work with a variety of stakeholders across varying lines of business. Must also possess the confidence to deal with senior executives and explain communication techniques and strategy
  • Creative skills: Creative ability to devise communication strategies and collateral that evolve and change based on employee engagement
  • Digital skills: Familiarity with information technology – digital, interactive and video communication is essential
