Your responsibilities

thyssenkrupp Elevator Corporation is seeking an IT Manager for its Germantown, TN office. The primary responsibility of this position is to lead the IT support team for order management and sales support functions across the Customer Service Center and Manufacturing Center. This manager will work cross-functionally with all levels of the organization to build strong business relationships. This manager will lead teams in gathering business requirements and oversee the design, development and delivery of solutions that enable continuous business improvements through the use of technology. This role will also require significant contributions to major process and system modernization programs.

  • Ensures that systems and applications are highly available to meet or exceed performance expectations
  • Proposes solutions that improve business performance and enable processes for Order Management, Customer Service, Document Management and other functions across the value stream
  • Manage multiple priorities by leading support of existing IT and business functions while contributing to major transformational programs
  • Plans, directs and monitors activities of staff with regard to innovation and creation of intellectual property.
  • Drives the strategic, multi-year plan for the team
  • Identifies, plans and manages IT projects from the request/approval phase through implementation
  • Oversees systems development and enhancement including the integration of new systems with existing systems
  • Manage and develop IT personnel, including participating in hiring and training of additional IT staff as growth justifies
  • Develop standing operating procedures and best practices, including providing written protocols and guidance to IT staff, internal end-users and clients
  • Evaluates and recommends IS hardware and software solutions that maximize productivity and meet the current and future needs and goals of the company
  • Performs systems maintenance, updates and product upgrades as required
  • Evaluates and recommends IS hardware and software solutions that maximize productivity and meet thyssenkrupp’s current and future objectives

Your profile

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field required
  • Ten or more years’ experience in Information Technology or a related field with five years of experience in a supervisory/leadership role
  • Seven or more years of progressive IT experience with demonstrated success in a solution development and/or business analyst role
  • Significant experience in delivering solutions and support for Order Management, Customer Service and Document Management applications
  • Strong experience with ERP solution development and support in a manufacturing/logistics environment
  • Solid understanding of the integration of sales and product configurator applications for highly-engineered products
  • Experience with the delivery of solutions and application development using Agile principles is a plus
  • Experience with the delivery of solutions and application support based on IT Service Management/ITIL principles
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a team of technical staff members located in multiple facilities
  • Significant experience managing relationships and deliverables with third-party service providers
  • Ability to build strong relationships across all levels of the organization and confidently interact with senior leadership
  • Experience developing and delivering solutions to enable lean manufacturing processes
  • Must have the ability to multi-task by balancing multiple projects at any given time
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical and evaluative skills
  • Requires effective time management skills, personal conduct and organizational change management abilities
  • Solid written and oral communication skills are essential for the role
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office 365
