Material Handler - La Palma

thyssenkrupp Supply Chain Services, a division of thyssenkrupp Materials NA, is a full-service provider of customized logistics and supply chain management solutions, including warehousing, third party logistics, transportation, quality inspection, returnable container management, and industrial facility maintenance.

Your responsibilities

We are currently seeking a Material Handler to be based out of the La Palma, CA or surrounding areas to Load and unload cartons from trailers and move throughout facility for storage or pre-shipment assembly using a forklift. This position may also utilize cranes, hoists, hand trucks, and other moving equipment to meet job requirements.
The key responsibilities of the Material Handler position include, but are not limited to the following:
• Responsible for transporting raw materials, finished products, and equipment throughout the facility using a forklift truck
• Load and unload trucks and verify that correct items are loaded and unloaded
• Identify, hold and segregate defective material
• Complete paperwork per work instructions, when required
• Remove and put away stock from various operations
• Perform general clean up
• Inspect forklift at the beginning of every shift; report issues to immediate supervisor or other designated personnel
• Participate, support and comply with all health, safety, ISO and 6S Initiatives and requirements
• Assist in any other duties, as requested by supervisor or team lead
• Train others when required
• Follow proper safety procedures and work instructions
Proficient at Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook
Receive and relay information to management

Your profile

• A high school diploma/GED
• Minimum of 3 years working in a fast paced warehouse environment
• Lean experience in a warehouse environment
• WMS Experience / working with RF scanners
• Forklift experience - Sit down / Reach Truck
• Must be able to sit for long periods of time and perform bending, twisting, squatting, reaching and grasping motions
• Ability to lift between 25-50lbs
• Basic math skills
