Your responsibilities

thyssenkrupp Aerospace NA is looking for a Maintenance Technician I, who will be inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and performing preventive maintenance on machinery and mechanical equipment.  You will also be performing various facilities maintenance activities. You will also be working alongside a diverse group of people.

To be considered for this Job, you MUST have:

  • Demonstrate mechanical and technical aptitude
  • 1-3 years’ experience in an industrial, maintenance environment
  • College degree or certificate in a technical area or related field
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and shop drawings
  • Might require assistance from supervisor or lead
  • Ability to use basic measurement instruments such as tape measure, scales, and gauges
  • Physically able to stand, bend, stoop, climb, reach and lift up to 40 lbs.
  • Ability to read and write English and perform basic math problems
  • Basic computer knowledge to complete data entry
  • Obtain and maintain current certification to operate material handling equipment such as, forklift, side-loader, 4-directional lift, or cherry picker

Your profile

You’ll be responsible for:

  • Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical, mechanical, and similar problems on machinery/equipment and perform timely repairs
  • Establish appropriate frequency and perform regular preventive maintenance activities on a limited amount of equipment in the facility
  • Perform timely facility/building maintenance and minor repairs, and maintain a clean and safe work area
  • Dismantle defective machines/equipment and install new or repaired equipment
  • Maintain accurate records of all inspections, tests, and repairs
  • Coordinate and make recommendations on work-related contracts and services
  • Supervise outside contractors when needed for mechanical and electrical repairs and maintenance
  • Participate, support, and comply with all Health, Safety, Quality, and Lean initiatives and requirements
  • Complete all job duties in a manner that does not put him/herself or other individuals in an unsafe situation and wear all PPE (personal protective equipment) when required
