Your responsibilities

thyssenkrupp Elevator Corporation is seeking a Senior Trainer for its office in Alpharetta, GA. 

The Senior Trainer role is primarily responsible for the delivery of functional and soft skills content for the extensive portfolio of programs for the Field organization. In addition, the trainer partners with seed campus personnel (e.g., Instructional Designer) to develop or update training's to meet new or changing organizational needs. As needed, the trainer prepares and coordinates all aspects of training and events including facility, logistics, equipment, materials and supplies. The coordination may include scheduling instructors and speakers; providing on-site setup and support during events; administering course evaluations and certificates; and performing event closeout and tear down.    The trainer may communicate with participants, instructors, speakers and others to provide instruction, guidance, and information to ensure coordination assignments are completed on time; and, participants and instructors are well prepared. The trainer exemplifies thyssenkrupp Elevator and seed campus values and standards to ensure continuous improvement and creates a positive participant learning experience.

  • Provide advanced facilitation skills and classroom management techniques to deliver functional and soft skill topics/content
  • Provide feedback to seed campus staff and assist in the updating existing content, based on learning feedback and measurement
  • Source course locations and negotiate applicable agreements for course sites, including physical locations, needed audio/visual equipment, catering, and room set up
  • Provide physical on-site and day-of support for classroom offerings and troubleshoot issues related to course as they occur
  • Prepare and deliver communications to instructors and participants including training dates, locations, enrollment information, transportation and other necessary enrollment information
  • Assist with schedules and enrollment tracking using LMS and other tracking methods, as required
  • Prepare, print and deliver to other instructors (prior to classes) evaluations, sign-in sheets, certificates of completion and other required materials
  • Lead room set-up and tear-down activities including signage, classroom and meeting space floor planning, registration desk, and dining arrangements
  • Arrange transportation and shipping of materials and supplies to training sites
  • Order and restock all classroom materials, training aids, supplies and awards
  • Maintain inventory records for stored training materials, supplies and equipment and restocks as necessary
  • Assist participants with hotel accommodations and recommendations
  • Organize and schedule ground transportation with participants including itineraries and schedules
  • Prepare, print and assemble training materials including participant guides, training handouts, job aids training charts, name tags, and other materials prior to courses, as required
  • Communicate with vendors to ensure that training materials are published and printed according to clear instructions within required time frames
  • Check publications for accuracy and quality control
  • Ship training publications and materials to training locations as required

Your profile

  • Bachelor’s degree in Adult Education, Training & Development, Organizational Development, HR, or related discipline, preferred
  • Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Motivated self- starter, who can effectively prioritize, multi-task and manage to accomplish objectives within deadlines
  • Strong organizational skills and follow-through; and the ability to take responsibility and consistently meet deadlines
  • Ability to develop good working relationships and effectively team with others, internal and external.
  • Excellent judgment, strict adherence to confidentiality requirements and the utmost professionalism in all situations
  • Ability to work towards department goals with sense of teamwork and necessary urgency.
  • Positive attitude that reflects well on the organization and the company
  • Five or more years training development and delivery experience in a large organizations required.
  • Requires a high level of customer service  and professionalism while working in stressful situations
  • Ability to communicate both technical and non-technical themes between vendors, staff, and participants
  • Intermediate knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook required
  • Knowledge of and experience with learning management systems (LMS), preferred
  • Ability to manage workload and deliver programs with minimal supervision and maintain high degree of proficiency
