Your responsiblities

Successful partnerships with the automotive industry, its Tier I, Tier II, and Tier III suppliers, and other original equipment manufacturers (OEM) and assemblers are the foundation of successful growth as a service provider of choice. Major market segments also include consumer goods, white goods, beverage and pharmaceutical industries. Services include supply chain management, logistics management, testing and inspection services, and packaging and kitting.
thyssenkrupp Supply Chain Services, a division of thyssenkrupp Materials NA, is a full-service provider of customized logistics and supply chain management solutions, including warehousing, third party logistics, transportation, quality inspection, returnable container management, and industrial facility maintenance.
We are currently seeking a Regional Transportation Manager to be based out of the Greenville, SC or surrounding areas. The Regional Transportation Manager will plan, direct, coordinate, and manage the transportation operations within our various regional facilities that service automotive manufacturers.
The key responsibilities of the Regional Transportation Manager position include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Manage and direct staff and activities related to dispatching, routing, and tracking transportation vehicles
  • Management of facility in regards to profit and loss statements
  • Hire and terminate employees based on performance and business needs
  • Direct investigations to verify and resolve customer or shipper issues
  • Engage, coach and lead the regional team
  • Collaborate with other managers and staff members to formulate and implement policies, procedures, goals, and objectives
  • Monitor operations to ensure that staff members comply with government regulations, administrative policies and procedures, safety rules, and Lean program
  • Lead and promote safe work activities by conducting safety audits, attending company safety meetings and leading, developing and ensuring safety policies/processes are followed
  • Maintain ISO certifications
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Your profile

  • High School Diploma required; Bachelor’s degree or some college in pursuit of same is preferred.
  • At least 3 years previous experience in a management or supervisory role
  • At least 5 years prior experience in the transportation industry managing a fleet of 150
  • Solid knowledge of government regulations within the trucking industry (DOT)
  • Strong time management and coordination skills, verbal and written communication skills, and critical thinking/problem resolution ability
  • At least 3 years previous experience with profit and loss statements
  • Safety minded focus
  • Travel to locations out of home state occasionally

Preferred attributes:

  • Lean, ISO, Success experience highly preferred
  • Working in the automotive industry preferred
