The Europe Africa Business Unit is the second-largest of thyssenkrupp Elevator’s four Business Units. This regional unit handles the sale, installation and servicing of elevators, escalators and moving walks. The Business Unit’s Headquarters – thyssenkrupp Elevator Europe Africa – is located in Essen, Germany, from where it coordinates activities in Germany, France, the British Isles, Austria, Switzerland, the Benelux countries, Scandinavia, Iberia, Italy, Turkey, Eastern Europe and Africa. In fiscal 2017/2018 the Business Unit had about 15,000 employees and generated sales of 2.1 billion euros in 6 Operating Units and 31 countries. Your responsibilities

  • You will support to set the overall strategic agenda for BU EA
  • In your role you will be involved in organizing, coordinating and developing the Strategic Dialog (Alignment between TK Group / BA ET / Business Unit EA / Functions)         
  • You will support to shape BU EA strategy by framing BU EA vision and deriving strategic direction, initiatives and priorities for the Operating Units within BU EA
  • You will conduct research & analysis of macro trends, industry / competitor intelligence etc. to substantiate strategic conclusions
  • You will identify / monitor trends, changes and disruptions in the relevant markets and deduct implications for BU EA
  • You will actively engage in strategic initiatives with Operating Units
  • As part of your daily business you will support and challenge Operating Units to translate strategic direction into projects / roadmaps
  • You will ensure rational and fact-based decision-making based on sound analysis and evaluation
  • You will spot opportunities (regional / business) as well as threats and evaluate multiple options
  • You will assess growth potential of new/existing businesses for BU EA and develop initial view on opportunities, investments  

Your profile

  • University degree in economics engineering or similar qualifications
  • 3 to 5 years of professional experience
  • Ideally experience in the field of Elevator business
  • Strong capability for analytical and conceptual thinking, ideally already applied in previous roles
  • First experiences with project-based work and ability to drive topics with multiple stakeholders / interests
  • Excellent social and communicational skills and high level of intercultural competence
  • Strong commitment, proactive attitude, high flexibility
  • Goal-orientation, assertiveness, resilience
  • Willingness to continuously grow and develop new skills
  • Very good knowledge in MS Office (Excel, Power Point, Word)
  • Fluent English, knowledge of another foreign language is desirable
