Your responsibilities

Summary: thyssenkrupp System Engineering, Inc. (tk SY, Inc.) is currently seeking an individual to serve in the role of Project Engineer Mechanical (PEM). The Project Engineer Mechanical is an integral part of the core project team and is responsible for leading all aspects of mechanical applications for Company projects.

Essential job duties:

  • Develops mechanical related primary specifications for projects
  • Performs and coordinates design activities in the early phase of a project, simultaneous engineering and project follow up, including concept development, feasibility studies, reference research and product layout design
  • Develops design concepts and completes designs for stations with a high degree of complexity
  • Presents concepts and resolve technical issues with customers as member of project core team
  • Line-up and lead designers and detailers (internal and/or external) to successfully execute designs
  • As member of Project Core Team, will be customer point of contact for all mechanical designs, studies, issues, etc.
  • Works with project core team to develop and share ownership of project timing, as well as ensuring tasks are up to date
  • Provide input to Project Manager for quoting changes to customer and updating the design and build specifications and schedule
  • Lead assembly floor activities and on-site activities as required and assigned by the Project Manager
  • Support issue resolution as directed by Project Manager

Your profile

Basic qualifications

  • Bachelor degree in a related field from a 4-year college or university with at least 5 years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience

Preferred qualifications

  • Required knowledge of CAD systems such as Inventor, NX, CATIA, and SolidWorks
  • Must have experience with the mechanical engineering of automated machines.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work well with the customer, supervision, engineering, and management
  • Ability to present information and respond to questions from customers and suppliers
  • Ability to travel up to 25%
