Quality Engineer

Your responsibilities

This position is located at the thyssenkrupp Aerospace Corporate Head-Quarters located in Kent Washington. This position reports to the Director of Quality and is responsible for driving quality improvements initiatives while working directly with internal and external customers with Quality Issues, Export/ITAR issues. The QAR identifies opportunities and provides guidance in the Quality and Export/ITAR arena to create a competitive advantage for TKA.

 

Key Accountabilities:

• Owns process quality, Export and ITAR documentation for all Branch operations and provides revision control to the QMS and the Export/ITAR Manual.
• Perform review of contractual documents and customer instructions to assure compliance with customer, regulatory and authorizing documents, implement quality processes to meet requirements
• Utilizing Rapid Root Cause and process improvement tools techniques, coordinate with internal and external customers, suppliers and functional teams to resolve quality issues and lead root cause/cause chain determinations as well as development of corrective actions to prevent recurrence
• Provides leadership for AS9100 compliance  
• Respond to requests for Export/ITAR issues and communicate the level of Customer satisfaction (VOC)
• Ensure Quality System is understood and executed by associates.
• Lead cross-functional teams in the execution and reporting of AS9100 compliance for audits
• Interface with TMX branches as well as Suppliers regarding audits  
• Understand and support the deployment of our safety program
• Manage and participate in the internal audit process

Your profile

Minimum Requirements:

  • BS or 5 years of experience in Quality Assurance & Export or ITAR
  • Experience in ISO/AS 9100
  • MS Office Proficiency

 

Preferred Requirements:

  • Green Belt Certification 
  • AS9100 auditor certified or ability to become AS9100 auditor
  • ASQ Quality Engineer certification
  • Export or ITAR certification
