Your responsibilities

Report to NA CFO with responsibility for leading all aspects of accounting, consolidations, internal controls, tax, treasury, audit and financial reporting for thyssenkrupp Elevator’s NA Business Unit. Key objective is to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting of monthly results for BU NA. Ensure compliance by BU NA OU's with TK accounting guidelines. Act as interface between BA ET CAR organization and BU NA OU's regarding questions, issues, requirements, etc.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Provide strategic direction for accounting operations and manage the effectiveness and efficiencies of the group to ensure all the objectives are met.
  • Recruit, train and supervise department staff.
  • Coach and mentor team members to perform effectively in their role and to further develop their expertise and knowledge of financial systems and operational processes.
  • Implement and approve financial policies and procedures in accordance with the business needs and in conformity with the corporate policies and procedures
  • Supports the Regional and Global initiatives for Controlling, and Accounting, including process improvements, consistency of practices and data accuracy.
  • Directly responsible for accounting function and associated activities for US Field operations, including accurate financial statements, account reconciliations, process improvement and internal & external audits
  • Liaison for internal and external audits
  • Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting of monthly results.
  • Manage monthly P&L and cash flow forecasting processes for BU NA.
  • Act as interface with German parent finance organization with regards to questions, issues, reporting requirements, etc.
  • Ensure compliance by BU NA operating Units with thyssenkrupp accounting guidelines and IFRS
  • Support treasury functions within BU NA as required
  • Manage external audit and internal controls department
  • Oversee tax department
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Your profile

WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • 10 – 15 years progressive experience in general accounting, financial reporting, consolidations, budgeting and forecasting.
  • 5 years of supervisory experience is preferred
  • Experience managing reporting and consolidations in multinational company with foreign subsidiaries strongly preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge of accounting principles, regulations, policies and procedures that is reflective of the financial services industry required
  • Experience in either construction or service industry. POC accounting is a plus
  • Experience with SAP, Oracle, EPM Cloud or other financial reporting software a plus.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Suites, particularly Excel (pivot tables, vlookups, ERP retrieve tools, etc).
  • Previous working relationship with foreign parent company finance organization a plus.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both verbally and written to all levels within the company
  • Able to apply technical expertise in finance and accounting to provide oversight and guidance.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage time across multiple responsibilities while considering the scope of work, time available and deadlines of others.
  • Able to constructively work in a very demanding performance-oriented work environment with high workloads and deadlines.
  • Able to interact effectively with all levels of management.
  • Able to serve as a resource to others in the resolution of complex problems and issues.
