Your responsibilities


Responsible for quoting, purchasing, scheduling, and strategic supply chain management for specific product lines.

Key Accountabilities:
• Lead negotiations on tactical sourcing for scrap
• Recommends and implements strategic and contractual sourcing decisions
• Utilizes systemic tools to purchase, schedule, and replenish inventory items to meet stated inventory objectives
• Complete understanding of the customer specific inventory management process
• Reconciles invoices
• Strong understanding of the global supply base and costing structures
• Develops and maintains relationships with senior supplier management
• Lead role during supplier evaluations
• Supporting costing/pricing department in cost administration
• Assists in the training of new purchasing personnel.
• Develops and maintains strong relationships with sales and sales management inside the company to achieve internal customer service goals.
• Comprehensive understanding of company objectives in sales, operations, and purchasing
• Effectively communicates with both internal customers and the supply base

Your profile

Minimum Requirements:
• Knowledge of purchasing procedures specifically with scrap
• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management or other closely related field
• The ability to type, edit, and proof business correspondence and perform arithmetic calculations to complete purchase orders and analyze product performance
• Interpersonal skills necessary to effectively communicate and work on a day-to-day basis within department, cross functionally within the company and with our supply base
• An understanding of company and departmental policies and procedures and to maintain accurate records and files in compliance with those policies and procedures

Preferred Requirements:
• 3-5 years purchasing experience
• The ability to train new personnel as well as negotiate with all levels of management
