thyssenkrupp Elevator Americas is looking for an experienced Sr. Accountant II to join our world class team in Germantown, TN. 

The Senior Accountant role is a full-time position reporting to the Accounting Manager. The Senior Accountant will play a very important role in the monthly financial close & reporting process. This individual must possess great attention to detail, strong financial acumen, and a high aptitude for leveraging technology and financial systems. This role will have a broad range of responsibilities involving certain aspects of the monthly financial close, GL responsibilities, and fulfilling the internal and external reporting requirements.


Essential duties and responsibilities:

 

  • Perform monthly close activities, such as prepare journal entries, roll-forwards and reconciliations of GL accounts and maintain accurate supporting documentation
  • Review of accounting transactions for appropriate accounting treatment according to IFRS Guidelines
  • Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable activities
  • Prepare monthly cashflows and assist with the monthly reporting package to management
  • Answer accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data
  • Analyze period over period fluctuations and provide insightful commentary of key business drivers; respond timely to inquiries through research and analysis
  • Assistance with development, maintenance and documentation of all policies and procedures related to assigned responsibilities
  • Participate in special projects as needed

Your profile

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or similar field is required
  • CPA required
  • 3-5 years of progressive experience in financial analysis, business administration, general accounting, cost accounting, economic analysis, systems analysis, or related area, with supervisory experience desired
  • In depth knowledge of IFRS
  • Oracle experienced desired
  • Advance ability to utilize current spreadsheets to gain insight and make data driven decisions
  • Reasonable ability to utilize computer software to provide monthly, quarterly, and fiscal analysis (Oracle Hyperion Enterprise & Retrieve for Excel)
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Suites, particularly Excel (pivot tables, vlookups, ERP retrieve tools, etc)
  • Previous working relationship with foreign parent company finance organization a plus
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both verbally and written to all levels within the company
  • Able to apply technical expertise in finance and accounting to provide oversight and guidance
  • Demonstrated ability to manage time across multiple responsibilities while taking into account the scope of work, time available and deadlines of others
  • Able to constructively work in a very demanding performance oriented work environment with high workloads and deadlines
  • Able to interact effectively with all levels of management
  • Able to serve as a resource to others in the resolution of complex problems and issues
