In 2003, our manufacturing facility was established in the South Industrial Park of Terre Haute, Indiana. Beginning with just one assembly line, a handful of employees and 58,000 square feet, the company has grown to over 450 employees and 224,000 square feet.  In addition, we have an office on northeast side of Indianapolis where the Procurement and Supplier Development Department, Business Development and Product Engineering are now located.  We have a third location in Troy, Michigan which houses our Sales Engineering, Logistics Distribution Center for USA, and Customer Resident Engineering.

Your responsibilities

SUMMARY:

Responsible to ensure established processes are adhered to in order to achieve zero defects in serial production, and total customer satisfaction. Has the responsibility for the implementation, conformity and performance of the process at the respective plant / OU for the Quality Assurance, Set of Methods, Management of Quality Methods, Management of Quality Performance and Notice of “Special Customer Status” Processes. 

Plans and conducts activities concerned with the quality assurance of industrial processes, materials and products by performing the following duties: 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.  Plans and conducts the analysis, inspection, test and/or integration to assure the quality of assigned product or component during serial production.

 

  • Direction and leadership of the Quality department
  • Quality manager has the authority and responsibility to directly escalate to and contact the CxO if at any time product quality and or customer expectations are being compromised.
  • Prepare/monitor Quality department budget, resource, and training plans
  • Function as Customer Representative
  • Schedule and partake customer service visits
  • Facilitate customer complaint, concessions, corrective actions, and debit reports
  • Facilitate problem solving and continuous improvement activities
  • Contributes actively to the reduction of failure costs like scrap and rework.
  • Facilitate mistake proofing activities
  • Analyze and react to operation and performance measurable  
  • Analyze and react to costs of poor quality
  • Applies statistical process control (SPC) methods for analyzing data to evaluate the current process and process changes.
  • Responsible for Serial Production Quality and Supplier Quality
  • Performs general housekeeping and 5S activities in work area/s
  • Maintains a working knowledge of safety policies and regulations to ensure duties of self and others are performed in a safe manner.
  • Backup for Product Safety Representative

 

Supervisory Responsibilities:

The Quality Manager directly supervises the Quality Supervisor, Quality Lab Supervisor, CBU Quality Supervisor and Customer Quality Engineer responsible for 1Km and Warranty.  Perform personnel performance evaluations and supervisory activities for subordinate employees.

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of SAP Integrated Business software.  Use of Microsoft Office Suites software and Microsoft Explorer browser in a windows operating system. Use of Lotus Notes.
