thyssenkrupp Industrial Solutions offers a full range of turnkey engineered solutions for the design, manufacture and construction of processing plants for the fertilizer and chemical industries; industrial plants and equipment for the mining, minerals and cement industries; aerospace and automotive body and power train assembly systems; and support and services to the naval marine industry. Through its Process and Resource Technologies, System Engineering and Marine Systems business units, Industrial Solutions partners with clients to provide solution packages that are optimally customized to their individual needs.

Your responsibilities

Position Overview:

Perform technical service related sales functions for the thyssenkrupp Industrial Solutions service offerings in North America. The Service Sales Engineer position focuses on selling life cycle support solutions into the industrial end user market. Primary markets will be cement, minerals and mining. The services are for thyssenkrupp and non-thyssenkrupp machines, equipment and systems. The person is responsible for supporting the service portfolio offer at all accounts in the defined markets. The focus will be on industrial facilities with tk IS installed base of target products from business units product portfolios. This business will be direct to end user market. Service Sales Engineer will own a territory quota for annual services sales and work closely with Business Units, Manufacturer’s Representatives and other potential Channel Partners to achieve goals.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develops and implements plans for strategic accounts that exceed expectations in revenue retention/growth, account profitability, and customer satisfaction/loyalty.
  • Pursues long-term account strategy that maximizes profits. May identify, develop and manage partners to achieve goals.
  • Assists in cultivating long-term relationships with the appropriate key account decision makers. Develops a complete understanding of the organizations structure and key buying influences of assigned account.
  • Performs client presentations articulating the value proposition of product / solution / service offerings.
  • Provides management with suggestions for improving volume, market share and price levels.
  • Develops forecasts, budgets and operating plans for sales channels.
  • Leads team reviews and updates of account plan based on changing market, customer conditions, and competitive activity.

Required Knowledge/Skills, Education and Experience:

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent experience
  • 8 or more years of successful selling experience in cement, minerals or mining related fields
  • Demonstrated business acumen in balancing customer and business requirements, i.e. financials strategic and tactical thinking etc.
  • Executive level verbal and written communication and presentation skills
  • Inherent ability to work effectively in a team environment and strong desire to win
  • Organization and time management skills to succeed in a fast paced environment
  • Travel 70%

Preferred Knowledge/Skills, Education and Experience:

  • BS in Mechanical Engineering preferred
  • Experience with End Users highly desirable
  • Knowledge of customers and competitors within the defined territory is a plus.
