Your responsibilities

Summary:

thyssenkrupp System Engineering (tk SY) is currently seeking a Project Engineer Controls to support the Powertrain Solutions operating unit.  The Project Engineer Controls is an integral part of the core project team and is responsible for managing, coordinating, and controlling the controls engineering work packages throughout the assigned project.

Duties and Responsibilities (not all inclusive)

  • Serves as the customer’s primary point-of-contact for hardware and software applications of electrical controls projects
  • Assists the core team in writing station specifications
  • Responsible for resource planning related to electrical hardware, software engineering, and commissioning. Accountable for the line-up and follow-up of internal and / or external resources to meet project timing and budget constraints
  • Responsible for the quality and completeness of software / hardware design.
  • Leads assembly floor activities and on-site installation / commissioning activities as required / assigned by the Project Manager
  • Supports issue resolution as directed by the Project Manager
  • Provides input to the Project Manager for quoting changes to customers and updating the design and build specifications and schedule

Your profile

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field from a 4-year college or university
  • Minimum of 2 years of industry-related experience

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledgeable in the use of AutoCAD software
  • Working knowledge of PLC software development, commissioning, and execution plans (i.e. Siemens, Allen Bradley, and Mitsubishi)
  • Working knowledge of HMI development, commissioning, and execution plans
  • Working knowledge of project scheduling software (i.e. Workfront)
  • Ability to present information and respond to questions from customers and suppliers
  • Ability to travel up to 25%
