Position Overview:

thyssenkrupp Industrial Solutions is currently seeking a Manager Service Projects Mining for our DENVER, COLORADO office location. We are looking for a self-motivated professional with a desire to grow personally as well as professionally with each challenge.

Our Manager Service Projects Mining is responsible for the successful execution of service revamp projects (upgrades, optimizations, improvements) within the mining and minerals processing indus-tries in USA which mainly consist of material handling and grinding operations. This position works in conjunction with our sales managers towards the preparation of proposals, covering both technical and commercial aspects, for our technologies, products and services. Our Manager Service Projects Mining works directly with customers, as well as with all our internal departments and office locations worldwide, starting with the sales process and ending with project completion.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop concepts for a successful bid of our products and services, in conjunction with sales management
  • Establish contact with the technical and purchasing personnel of our customers. Analyze customer’s particular requirements and project bid specifications. Manage distribution of information to all relevant internal resources
  • Determine and select suitable equipment from our product lines and develop process flow sheets in cooperation with internal resources for the project as needed
  • Coordinate and establishing of technical calculations by specialist engineers and establish technical calculations for equipment shown on the flow sheets
  • Coordinate all project-specific engineering efforts with our office locations worldwide
  • Prepare cost estimates based upon internal (proprietary equipment) and external (sub suppliers, contractors, consultants) sources
  • Prepare budgetary or firm proposals. Define, revise and adjust scope of proposal in terms of scope of supply, options offered, pricing, delivery, installation, in conjunction with sales management
  • Develop project execution plans to be shared with clients as well as other staff members
  • Maintain and enhance contact with customer, to clarify specific requirements of each project
  • Track project performance in terms of schedule and cost, in conjunction with commercial project management

 

Your profile

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor degree in Mechanical/Chemical/Process/Electrical or Mining Engineering
  • Experience in project management, PMP preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in mining, aggregates, cement, industrial minerals or related industries
  • Experience in team building and staff management
  • Ability to travel for business internationally, predominantly in the USA, up to a maximum of 40% of time.
  • Proficiency with standard MS software


Preferred Qualifications:

Basic knowledge of:

  • Design software (AutoCAD, Inventor or similar),
  • Project scheduling software (MS Project, Primavera or similar)


Level Accountability:

  • This level is regarded as a fully qualified professional where responsible and varied assignments are carried out with limited supervision.

Functional Contribution:

  • Organizes a wide variety of responsible technical assignments and is able to complete broadly defined tasks with minimal supervision within established practices.

Decision Making:

  • Makes independent decisions required in planning, organizing and completing technical assignments along with reviewing and evaluating recommendations and actions pro-posed by other technical personnel.

Problem Solving:
