Your responsibilities

At our HQ in Essen you lead the team "Business Excellence". With the support of your global direct and indirect reports you:

  • Lead and/or provide oversight over major operational projects and the development and operationalization of strategies in Operational Excellence, Lean Management, Quality Management, 6S, Operational Health & Safety.
  • Introduce and sustain change across regions and integrate process solutions across multiple disciplines (Continuous Improvement Process).
  • Lead the definition, creation and implementation of Standardized Training Programs to support organizational development through the understanding of concepts and practices at thyssenkrupp Aerospace (SixSigma/Lean, Management etc.).
  • Monitor and track improvements made through lean and cost reduction initiatives with formal reporting, presentations and best practices sharing as required and develop scorecards to monitor progress both before and after process redesign.
  • Participate in and provide support on regional financial and operational reviews and assists site management in corrective action on poor operational or financial performance.
  • Develop digitalization and automation strategies and implement projects with relevant cross-functions and the business.
  • Travel requirements up to 65% as this is a truly global position.

Your profile

  • Master in Engineering, ideally with an additional MBA. Six Sigma black belt highly desirable.
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in the field of Aerospace or Automotive, thereof 5 years’ experience in leading rapid improvement teams, Kaizen events and/ or other lean projects but also leading and implementing change in a global manufacturing environment under constant cost pressure from customers.
  • You have a strong understanding of processes and KPIs and think in a solution-oriented way, working strategically and being creative and innovative.
  • High level of statistical/ analytical know how as well as extensive methodological competence in the area of ​​CIP / Six Sigma / Lean Management.
  • You have already proven your leadership skills through disciplinary leadership and by working in a matrix and distinguish yourself through motivational, interpersonal as well as collaboration skills.
  • In addition to skills in MS Office you ideally have a high affinity towards IT.
  • You enjoy working in a cross-cultural, multinational team, but also have the ability to assert yourself and use adequate communication skills to distinctive target groups and manage a wide variety of stakeholders across different levels in the hierarchy.
  • Fluent English language skills are mandatory, with additional languages preferred.
