This role will support thyssenkrupp’s elevator business with programming, data-analytics and support for the current legacy systems while preparing for the implementation of new world class business systems.

Essential Functions

  • Focus in the functional areas of Programming and Systems Analysis as needed to deliver service and support to clients
  • Determine operational objectives by studying business functions by gathering information and evaluating output requirements and formats
  • Improve systems by studying current practices then designing modifications
  • Recommend controls by identifying problems and writing improved procedures
  • Conduct insightful, ad hoc analyses to investigate ongoing or one-time operational issues
  • Develops, codes and modifies complex programs, including applications and systems integration
  • Test and debug code; maintains, modifies and integrates computer programs
  • Creates and edits user and application documentation for the use of new and revised systems
  • Performs analysis of user requests to determine parameters of required program and if a new program must be created or if an existing program can be modified
  • Designs, codes, tests, maintain and documents complex computer programs based on user requests
  • Performs analysis and documents user information needs or business problems and determines most effective/efficient programming solution
  • Analyzes existing software and hardware systems and procedures; recommends modification or creation of computer programs and user procedures to best meet user’s needs
  • Prepares user and technical documentation for the implementation, support and running of new and/or modified systems
  • Provides unique data and reports as requested by users
  • Provides expertise in implementing, programming and troubleshooting systems; addressing complaints and resolving complex problems including user support

Your profile

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, related Technology field or equivalent education and work experience
  • Ten or more years’ related experience within the elevator or similar manufacturing field required
  • Minimum of ten years of programming experience
  • Minimum of ten years’ experience with ERP business systems, SAP and or IBM Mainframe preferred
  • Possess strong skills in .NET, HTML, SQL Server, JavaScript, Windows, database design, application/systems integration development (API) and web services
  • Possess working knowledge of COBOL development and existing Product Configuration System
  • Experience with VBScript preferred
  • Possess working knowledge of COBOL development and existing Product Configuration System
  • Demonstrated experience in gathering, designing, prototyping, troubleshooting and supporting users
  • Advanced understanding of the manufacturing process and Bills of Material
  • Change management experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Demonstrated work experience within a process-oriented environment
  • Possess the ability to maintain a customer focus in providing technology services
