thyssenkrupp Elevator Americas is currently seeking an experienced Manager - Operational Excellence in Germantown, TN.

 

Essential duties and responsibilities:

 

  • Provide for on-site management of OpEx resources at Manufacturing Center (MC) Middleton
  • Ensure that the activities of OpEx resources are in alignment with the strategic improvement plan for MC-Middleton
  • Ensure the timely completion of projects and initiatives that move MC-Middleton in the direction of True North (strategic goals) while helping achieve short- and long-term business objectives by collaborating with MC Head to establish OpEx direction
  • Identify organizational, cultural and technical work necessary to deploy Operational Excellence principles, concepts and practices
  • Coach Green and Black Belts through the DMAIC process
  • Deploy Six Sigma/Lean approach in MC
  • Ensure progress versus the Production System assessment
  • Ensure on-time delivery of savings to meet annual business commitments per Strategic Improvement Plans
  • Act as advisor to all levels in regards to Operational Excellence principles, concepts, and practices
  • Ensure standards are established and maintained pursuant to the deployment of Operational Excellence concepts and practices
  • Identify the correct OpEx methodology to improve manufacturing and business processes
  • Teach OpEx methodologies and principles to all team members and/or cross functional teams
  • Maintain and improve existing procedures and processes
  • Prepare reports and training materials in addition to technical reports
  • Create and deliver education, training and coaching in a variety of methods: Classroom instruction, Hands-on exercises, Simulations, 1:1, etc
  • Act as subject matter expert locally for all Lean Methodologies and Principles Develop advanced level solutions for cross-functional problems
  • Manage the Operational Excellence department and its resources Assess current knowledge level of OpEx resources, identifies gaps and establishes plans
  • Support the integration between OpEx in Headquarter in Germany and other MC in AMS (Americas) Business Unit – Brazil

Your profile

  • Must have a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
  • Must have 5 years of experience deploying Lean Manufacturing
  • Must have Certification in Six Sigma
  • Must possess knowledge of Improvement and Coaching Kata
  • Must have experience facilitating successful teams (Project, Functional, and Kaizen/RIE)
  • Must possess expert understanding with experience in various facets of the manufacturing enterprise including manufacturing processes and its requirements, product engineering, logistics, quality management systems, production control and financing and how they correlate to each other
  • Advanced skillset in Microsoft Office software, specifically spreadsheet and presentation applications (Excel and PowerPoint)
  • 25% International and Domestic travel is required
