Your responsibilities

This role is responsible for testing of mechanical components, assemblies and systems. Position focuses on development and execution of test plans, test results reporting and development of test equipment and mockups.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Create validation and qualification test plans
  • Perform tests of requirements, strength, stress and product life as defined, and document results in test report
  • Create test equipment 
  • Working with Electrical T&Q, select and deploy data acquisition and control components to automate test and data collection
  • Assist with project planning, estimation and tracking
  • Report development status to supervisor on a regular basis 
  • Assist department in troubleshooting technical problems
  • Training of personnel
  • Recommend innovations and improvements to methods, tools, and processes
  • Adhere to company safety procedures, and identify areas for improvement in safety
  • Utilize broad product knowledge in performing essential job functions
  • Complete assigned projects on time 
  • Perform other related duties and assignments as required.

WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • Five or more years’ experience in engineering with a focus in mechanical engineering or related field required.
  • Experience with design or testing of mechanical systems.
  • Knowledge of use of mechanical fabrication equipment (shop tools, hoists, presses, lathes, welders).
  • Knowledge of use of mechanical test equipment (pressure gauges, torque wrench, load cell, hydraulic systems) is desirable.
  • Experience using computer-assisted design software such as SolidWorks or AutoCAD.
  • Experience with LabView and National Instruments hardware or other data acquisition and control hardware is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of Six Sigma and Project Management Body of Knowledge is desirable.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills are required to be able to clearly communicate on a technical level.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Certification is Six Sigma and Project Management Body of Knowledge preferred.
  • Proficiency Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
  • Must have ability to analyze and organize daily activities to support the organization in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Possess the ability to multi-task, exercise judgment, make decisions and take action to complete task.
