Your responsibilities

Summary of Position:

Provides coordination of Leave of Absence process for FMLA, Non FMLA, and Military Leave of Absence requests in compliance with FMLA, ADA, and HIPAA regulations and company policy.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Processes and coordinates administration all Leaves of Absence programs (FMLA, STD, LTD, and Personal) for multiple states to ensure conformance and consistency based upon applicable federal/state laws and policies, in partnership with third party administrator.
  • Interprets policy to address and resolve issues raised as well as providing advice and resolution.
  • Prepares correspondence as needed, related to LOA needs and Federal Regulations and maintains legal compliance for all forms.
  • Manages internal LOA records including data entry in HRIS systems.
  • Support data entry for Canada LOA claims.
  • Prepares standard and ad hoc LOA reports.
  • Verifies eligibility for all intermittent leave requests.
  • Daily interaction and follow up with Managers and Employees regarding FMLA, LTD and STD to address questions and ensure process compliance.
  • Investigates and researches leave policy issues and problems and responds with appropriate action in accordance to past practice, company policy, state and federal laws.
  • Identifies and advises management of trends, problems, and issues as well as recommended course of action; informs management of new procedures and ideas for continuous process improvement.
  • Monitor managers and supervisors tracking of leave time to ensure timely and accurate payroll processing.

Minimum Requirements:

  • 3+ years’ experience in Human Resources, Benefits Administration, LOA Administration, Disability claims, or related field
  • Knowledge of HIPAA, FMLA, FLSA, and ADA
  • Ability to use sound judgment and maintain confidentiality
  • Proficient data management and analytical skills
  • Detail-oriented, strong multitasking abilities, and self-motivated
  • Ability to build and maintain effective customer and professional relationships through strong interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of federal and state regulations, filing, and compliance requirements affecting benefit programs including (FMLA, ADA, HIPAA, COBRA)
  • Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written), and proven problem-solving ability

 

Preferred Requirements: 

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Experience with SAP and ADP eTime
  • CPDM or CEBS
