Your responsibilities

The Commercial Project Manager is responsible for establishing organizational results by leveraging the knowledge and contribution of others such as other Project Manager, Department Managers and other professionals.

He/she reports to the Head of Commercial Project Management RC North America. He/she supports sales throughout the proposal effort for the different BU’s and Manages overall Project Costs, risks and contributes to the overall financial performance during post award.

Project Cost Management duties:

  • Monitors and reports on project financial performance and ensures relevant risks and opportunities are reflected in project estimates. Provides early warning on issues and concerns.
  • Utilizes analytic and quantitative decision analysis tools and techniques to infer/quantify/ estimate financial implications of risk and alternative reward and trade-off decisions.
  • Has oversight and coordinates all project cost accounting functions including forecasting, budgets, monthly and annual project cost reports. Through off-site Project Accounting.
  • Works closely with the CAR department in establishing (in particular cash and EBIT) projections/forecasts by contributing project related information
  • Reviews cost models and assumptions to ensure consistency with requirements of RFP and/or contract.
  • Supports Project AP and AR efforts to ensure timely billing and payments is maintained to ensure a cash positive environment.  Supports the Proposal Managers or Project Management with cost estimates for new contracts/additional works.
  • Quantifies values and supports project manager to adjudicate claims/variation orders for additional costs received from subcontractors/suppliers/vendors.
  • Manages bonding, letter of credit and insurance requirements for the project including close-out activities.

Contract & Commercial Management:

  • Provides prime contract management and guidance on matters affecting deliverability, compliance and overall financial performance from initial pursuit to project closeout. Structures, manages, reviews and negotiates viable business deals, change orders, and contract extensions to retain clients, capture opportunities and/or manage contract issues and disputes.
  • Reviews contract and amendments for accuracy and compliance with company contract, risk management and pricing policies.
  • Provides contract guidance and negotiation skills in concert with procurement staff, contracts group, as applicable, and delivery leadership on subcontracts and complex OEM procurements. Manages major subcontract change orders, issues and disputes.
  • Engages with project controls to monitor schedule and liquidated damages for prime and subcontracts.
  • Develops an understanding of the social, political and economic factors of the client and/or region to strengthen the firm’s commercial and financial opportunities.

Other:

Provides ongoing training to new employees and project personnel to support career development and project compliance to company procedures and processes.

Your profile

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Engineering or Construction Management required.
  • Minimum 10 years relevant experience with comparable industry firms required.
  • Must be proficient with Computers and software similar to Microsoft Excel, Word and Adobe-Pro and SAP
  • Have general knowledge with regards to Legal terms, Tax implications, customs and brokerage as well as corporate finance, accounting and controlling.
  • Willing to travel up to 25%
