The Production Supervisor is responsible for providing direct supervision of production employees in OE on an assigned shift to include work scheduling, employee training, ensuring production quality and quantity requirements are met, evaluating staffing needs, performance management and employee relations, administering safety, communication and teambuilding programs. Interacts with all departments and levels of the organization to optimize processes and production.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Maintains a safe working environment by complying with all safety and environmental policies in the workplace. Advocates for and promotes a safe work environment by reporting Near Misses and/or other safety and environmental hazards, wearing all required PPE and encouraging others to do the same.
• Supervises production teams engaged in the assembly of shock absorbers. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: interviewing/recommending candidates for hire, completing performance reviews, documenting corrective action issues, training and staff development, maintaining safe working conditions, etc.
• Sets goals and priorities for the work teams to ensure accurate, efficient and timely task completion.
• Works closely with Production Schedulers to meet customer demand while ensuring quality standards are met, improved upon and ultimately exceeded.
• Manages continuous improvement within OE with respect to 6S standards and IDEAS program.
• Ensures production equipment is cleaned and maintained according to preventative maintenance schedules.
• Recommends improvements to production methods and processes.
• Monitors and improves safety performance and is responsible for all safety compliance and reporting for all team members on the shift.

• Conducts effective communications with teams in huddles and other forums.
• Responsible for making sure all subordinate are effectively trained on work instructions, machinery, equipment, processes and required paperwork.
• Responsible for quality, cost, delivery and labor efficiency of department.
• Ensures compliance with safety codes, policies, and procedures of the Company and standards established by Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA) and is required to report any unsafe act, potential issues, or other safety concerns.
• Assists and maintains appropriate inventory levels and product loss controls.
• Advises management of problems, requesting guidance and counsel as appropriate.
• Assists in the development and implementation of processes and procedures consistent with safety, service, quality, and cost objectives.
• Communicates with other Production Supervisors and the Production Unit Leader daily on operational issues and events.
• Determines work procedures, prepares work schedules, analyzes production errors and recommends/implements corrective action for assigned shifts.
• Provides creative and innovative ideas to improve operational productivity while maintaining a safe work environment.
• Ensure that reports, billing and payroll are processed on a timely and accurate basis.
• Meets customer and company key performance metrics, goals and objectives.
• Fosters a team environment within the facility and demonstrates strong leadership skills.
• Is physically present on the floor providing critical leadership to team members.
• Positively engages and interacts with customers, team members, vendors, visitors.
• Promotes team concept and encourages team member involvement in process improvement and problem resolution.
• Completes tasks as directed by manufacturing schedules and within standard times.
• Performs all other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

• Previous experience as a team leader, supervisor or manager of people in manufacturing with strong "on-floor" presence. Hands on management style is required.
• Proven ability to work well in a team environment, projects a positive attitude and a strong desire to learn.
• Possesses and displays highly effective verbal and written communication and strong interpersonal skills needed to engage and instruct employees on manufacturing processes, motivate performance, lead and implement continuous improvement activities, and work with teams throughout the organization.
• Demonstrated strong management skills, including planning, organizational change, conflict, and performance management skills with solid interviewing and project management skills.
• Possesses keen attention to detail and solid troubleshooting skills.
• Proven ability to prioritize, manage time well, and work closely with the various team to quickly address needs and adjust focus as needed.
• Demonstrated knowledge of OSHA and proven experience upholding safety standards.
• Proven analytical skills including problem solving and the ability to interpret procedures, guidelines and regulations.
• Demonstrated ability to uphold professionalism with both internal and external customers, including personal appearance and friendly, courteous treatment of peers, subordinates and customers.
