Your responsibilities

OVERALL POSITION PURPOSE:

To provide technical writing support to the engineering department. This position will be responsible for the writing, desktop publishing, and printing of Technical Operation and Maintenance Manuals, Training Manuals, and other product support documentation, including the compilation of engineering submittals.

CORE TASKS:

  1. Prepare complex technical manuals and other project-related documentation.
  2. Responsible for writing, formatting, editing and validating user guides, technical manuals and user manuals under supervision of the Director of Operations.
  3. Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical users.
  4. Excellent technical knowledge to comprehend technical programs/data.
  5. Review and edit program documents for technical accuracy in accordance with all applicable documentation standards.
  6. Collaborate with subject matter experts to develop thorough and accurate technical manuals.
  7. Must be able to read and interpret engineering drawings (logic, electrical, mechanical, hardware, software and schematics.
  8. Participate in customer reviews, validation and verification processes and assure final delivery of manuals.
  9. Research and obtain technically accurate and current source date from program engineering, designers, and other subject matter experts.
  10. Perform technical writing and graphics.
  11. Participate and add value as a member of the Engineering Department.
  12. Engages in effective communication within and across departments.
  13. Participate in Company Safety Program through safety meetings, audits, following good safe work practices and maintaining a safe and clean work environment.
  14. Commitment to quality by meeting and exceeding our customer expectations and continuously improving our quality management system and their processes to create value for customers, employees, and shareholders.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Expert Know How/Knowledge:

  • Required proficiency with Adobe InDesign and advanced knowledge of MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint required.
  • Experience with Madcap Flare Suite, Graphic design, Robo Help, Microsoft Project, SAP and using small production printing preferred.
  • Ability to work within tight deadlines
  • Experience with Desktop Publishing Software (such as Adobe Creative Suite) preferred.
  • Ability to work with AutoCAD drawing to view and annotate as necessary for presentation.
  • Possess strong discipline to provide accurate and timely data.
  • Must be able to work independently, making sound decisions utilizing good judgement.
  • Impeccable attention to detail, effective problem solving skills.
  • Able to thrive in a fast pace environment.
  • Ability to work well with a team.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks at one time – accurately, efficiently and effectively.
  • Must be self-directed, professional and dependable

Expected (Educational) Experience:
