Summary:

 

The Preventative/Reliability Maintenance Lead Technician is primarily responsible for the scheduling, organization, structure, effectiveness, and workmanship of the Reliability Maintenance Team. These responsibilities include maintenance, repairs, and upkeep of all Production related machinery, mechanical systems, and control sub-systems while maintaining the highest safety standards and best work practices.  This individual will be responsible for the day-to-day activities and scheduling of the Production Preventative Maintenance Program and the Maintenance Reliability Technicians. This position is responsible for the reliability of Production related machinery and will support the TPM process throughout the plant. This position requires a strong commitment to safety.

  • Maintains a safe working environment by complying with all safety and environmental policies in the workplace. Advocates for and promotes a safe work environment by reporting Near Misses and/or other safety and environmental hazards, wearing all required PPE and encouraging others to do the same.
  • Ability to effectively communicate and record concepts, instructions, and definitions
  • Participate in new hire interviews and selection
  • Overseeing the Reliability Maintenance Team
  • Train Production Support staff and Technicians the detailed specifics of maintaining and repairing machinery and equipment as defined in the TPM process.
  • Work individually or within cross-functional teams in order to perform all necessary duties, maintenance, and rebuilds
  • Prepares and administers internal new-hire training for the Maintenance and Production Departments in regards to TPM and Autonomous maintenance.
  • Coaches and councils team members to ensure improved performance
  • Create and Maintain PM and wear parts lists for individual equipment assets
  • Communicate with Logistics and Production to ensure appropriate scheduling of maintenance tasks according to the most current procedures.
  • Continual improvement and increased effectiveness of the Preventative/Reliability Maintenance Program by coordinating efforts and analysis with the Reliability Engineer.
  • Accurately able to diagnose equipment problems, implement appropriate solutions and affirm continued effectiveness of repairs and maintenance.
  • Ability to troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair machinery in breakdown situations when necessary
  • Maintain labor and work history reporting into CMMS work-order forms accurately and descriptively on a daily basis.
  • Read and understand engineering drawings and schematics for electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic equipment.
  • Respond to both internal and external customers with a sense of urgency and professionalism.
  • Participate in TPM implantation throughout the plant using the 5 step module.
  • Lead the development and continuous updates to work instructions and maintenance procedures.
  • Obtain supplier training for new and existing equipment that may require out-of-state or overseas travel.
  • Maintain high housekeeping and 6S standards at all times and in all areas including the workshop, personal toolbox and Production equipment during and at completion of all tasks.
  • Generate part lists for ordering workshop consumables, tooling, spare and wear parts.
  • Must be able and willing to support a 24/7 Maintenance operation through on-call, overtime, Holiday and nightshift scheduling.
  • Has authority to stop processes to correct quality, safety or environmental problems, identify and place suspect product on quality hold, and to promptly notify Supervisory personnel when processes become noncompliant.
  • Must be able to utilize advanced Predictive Maintenance tools. Such as Thermography, vibration analysis, and ultra-sonic detection.
  • Oversees all Fluid testing and analysis of samples and take the necessary corrective actions when results are negative. Help maintain all fluid systems, including cooling towers.
