Your responsibilities

thyssenkrupp Elevator is seeking a Director of Manufacturing for its Fort Worth, Texas location. The Director of Manufacturing oversees the management of all areas in manufacturing including Production, Warehouse, Quality Control, Procurement, Planning and Maintenance to produce Passenger Boarding Bridges (PBB). This role leads all activities so that PBB’s are manufactured on schedule, within safety/quality standards and cost objectives.

  • Safety – Lead by example by engaging in our Company Safety Program through safety meetings, audits, following good safe work practices and maintaining a safe and clean work environment
  • Commitment to quality by meeting and exceeding our customer expectations and continuously improving our quality management system and their processes to create value for customers, employees, and shareholders
  • Direct and oversee the manufacturing process (Procurement/Manufacturing Control / Planning / Warehouse). Monitor, analyze and evaluate the workflow and assembly methods, working with QMS to identify root cause and support process improvements
  • Maintain the production and capacity volume according to the forecast/planning to achieve a high standard of on-time delivery
  • Work with manufacturing control to assure timely work orders, distribution of drawings and production orders to the production floor
  • Accountable for directing the actions of the Procurement to assure the timely purchase of parts (Standard parts, long lead time items, outsourced parts, etc.)
  • Work with Purchasing (PSM) to develop an efficient supply chain
  • Work with Engineering to engage in product improvement (bill of material) and reduce the number of errors.
  • Responsible for assuring budgeted man-hours per bridge are maintained or reduced
  • Ensure the accuracy of data entered into inventory database, accuracy of material/parts received and distributed to manufacturing floor consumption
  • Partner with Human Resources for staffing needs, employee and labor relations
  • Participate and add value as a member of the TKAS Management Team

Your profile

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or other related field
  • Formal training courses in Leadership
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in fabrication or manufacturing environment in a management role
  • Experience in continuous improvement methodologies such as Operational Excellence, Safety, Sustainability, Quality, Delivery, Cost or Safety, Sustainability, Quality, Delivery, Productivity
  • Proven track record in management of personnel up to 150 employees (hourly, administrative and supervisory personnel)
  • Prior experience in management under ISO 9001 guidelines
  • Six Sigma Training (Certification Preferred)
  • OSHA 30 (Certification preferred)
  • ISO 9000 Experience (preferred)
  • Lean/Six Sigma Certification (Highly desired)
  • Able to thrive in a fast pace environment
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks at one time – accurately, efficiently and effectively.
  • Must be self-directed, professional and dependable
  • Demonstrate dependable work habits and schedule
