Your responsibilities

thyssenkrupp Elevator Americas is currently seeking an experienced Technical Instructor in Coppell, TX.

 

Essential duties and responsibilities:

 

  • Deliver instruction through formal classes and online (such as via WebEx/GoToMeeting)
  • Develop training objectives, instructor-led or eLearning content, feedback loops, and assessments—which result in quality course materials
  • Interview engineers, field engineers, elevator mechanics, educational specialists and other personnel to become familiar with product operation and technology—gathering information needed for content development
  • Research, review, and study trade catalogues, drawings, blueprints, sketches, specifications, mock-ups, operating elevators systems and product samples to integrate and delineate technology, operating procedures, and training requirements
  • Create and select photographs, drawings, sketches, diagrams, and charts to illustrate training curriculum materials
  • Deliver classroom or synchronous instruction while projecting a professional and positive image of yourself and thyssenkrupp
  • Provide a positive learning environment during training sessions and manage student expectations—including attendance, timing and behavior expectations
  • Identify the appropriate questioning strategies to use in training sessions to improve student comprehension and engagement
  • Identify the appropriate techniques to use for different types of learning objectives
  • Maintain proficiency in adult learning, instructional design and training delivery—as well as knowledge of thyssenkrupp products and technology
  • Travel to plants, field offices (domestic and overseas), and other locations, as directed
  • Relocate training equipment for various classes
  • Perform other various job functions as may be assigned

Your profile

  • Associates Degree in Electronics Technology or equivalent
  • Strong experience with elevator systems or related systems, and troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues using common test equipment, including digital multimeters and oscilloscopes
  • Have a working level experience with MS Word and Excel
  • Have a working-to-expert level experience with MS PowerPoint
  • Comfortable with using Internet and online navigation
  • Travel is needed less than 75% of the time. Almost all travel is in US/Canada. Must have US passport or be eligible to obtain US passport
