Your responsibilities

Position Summary:

Develop and manage processes and systems aimed towards supply chain quality (Volkswagen, thyssenkrupp, and suppliers), continuous improvement, safety, process optimization, and environmental responsibility.

Responsibility / Activity:

  • Lead efforts to develop suppliers and continuously evaluate & improve supplier quality performance
  • Manage module & component approval processes in BeON, including IMDS submissions
  • Work with the customer, thyssenkrupp colleagues, and suppliers to manage planned changes and react to problems
  • Manage the supplier problem report process, track issues, review responses, and escalate as needed
  • Oversee the receiving inspection process including technicians, sorting companies, quarantine, etc.
  • Give technical direction to production, quality technicians, maintenance, & individual team members
  • Approve supplier component packaging and release authority for supplier quality requirements
  • Disposition of suspect/non-conforming material and quarantine authority
  • Operate appropriately within respective areas of the Quality Program
  • Additional responsibilities and activities may be added on a need basis, as assigned by management

Your profile

Education:

  • Minimum education requirement: Bachelor’s degree preferred or Associates degree with relevant experience
  • Preferred education requirement: Mechanical or Industrial Engineering degree
  • Technical and administrative skills: Knowledge of a wide variety of manufacturing processes
  • High knowledge in Quality Systems (ISO/TS 16949, ISO 14000, OHSAS 18000, VW FORMEL-Q)
  • Ability to analyze problems with data, make a decision based on risk, and present the logic to others
  • Experience/tact in dealing directly with the external parties, potentially in high pressure situations
  • Six Sigma knowledge and previous experience in a “just in sequence” operation (preferred)
  • Previous experience working in automotive supplier quality would be ideal

Experience:

  • 2 to 4 years of experience in the same job position or similar labor activities.
  • Needs experience in production environments (preferably automotive) with semi-automated assembly.
