Your responsibilities

Summary/Objective

Responsible for overseeing the processing of payroll and extra billings so that management receives timely reports for approval, and payroll and billing are handled in an efficient, cost effective manner.

Essential Functions

  1. Supervises a staff of Payroll and Extras billing coordinators including approving time and attendance, disciplinary measures, coaching, performance reviews, and skill development.
  2. Oversees balancing of payroll accounts by auditing information, identifying and resolving discrepancies and initiating journal entries.
  3. Works with Region and Branch personnel to ensure timely processing.
  4. Acts as back-up for team members during vacation and/or high-volume work efforts.
  5. Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, benchmarking state-of-the-art practices, and participating in professional societies.
  6. Drives solid results through continual growth, goal setting and training of payroll and extras coordinators.
  7. Develops processes and drives best practices that align with corporate standard operating procedures.
  8. Performs other duties as assigned.

This role manages subordinate, nonsupervisory, employee(s) and carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; and addressing complaints and resolving problems.

 

Your profile

Preferred Education and Experience

  1. 3+ years’ experience in large volume billing or similar industry experience and college degree; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  2. 1+ year of Oracle or other ERP system experience 
  3. Ability to effectively supervise team members and work as a member of that team and organize work activities for other members of that team
  4. Demonstrated coaching/mentoring skills and issue management problem solving skills
