Your responsibilities

thyssenkrupp Elevator Americas is currently seeking an experienced Superintendent- New Installation to join our world class team in Northern New Jersey.

 

Essential duties and responsibilities:

  • Supervising mechanics, mechanic’s helpers, and other modernization employees
  • Coordinating turnover of jobs with the service department
  • Assisting crews when necessary at the job sites
  • Communicating with building owners and monitoring supplies and equipment
  • Provides technical input to sales staff on the scope of the work and materials needed if jobs are billable or non-billable
  • Orders parts and materials for jobs
  • Receives, reviews, and signs off on booking packages for new jobs and completes additional job-related forms
  • Enters information on new job costs into the database and completes financial information on uncompleted jobs
  • Occasionally assists with the loading and unloading of equipment at job sites
  • Monitors status of jobs and makes occasional visits to job sites to check on job progress, perform quality control, and answer customers’ questions
  • Assists mechanics with jobs when necessary by providing on-the-job site instructions
  • Schedules final inspections and ensures that violations are corrected before final close out
  • Closes out jobs, ensuring all costs have been applied to closed jobs
  • Reviews new and existing jobs for profitability
  • Investigates accidents and completes appropriate forms
  • Assists with equipment inventory
  • Completes weekly, monthly, and yearly reports
  • Recruit, hire, train, evaluate and disciplines mechanics, mechanics helpers, and other service staff

Your profile

  • At least two years college in business, preferred
  • Three years of experience in maintenance and repair of elevators
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Strong listening skills
  • Strong mechanical comprehension and reasoning skills
