Your responsibilities

thyssenkrupp Industrial Solutions is currently seeking a SALES ENGINEER in our ATLANTA, GEORGIA  office location. We are looking for a self-motivated professional with a desire to grow personally as well as professionally with each challenge.

Our Sales Engineer is responsible for the preparation of proposals, covering both technical and commercial aspects, for our crushing technologies marketed within the mining, minerals processing and aggregate industries in North America. This position works in conjunction with our Business Development Managers and Sales Managers. Our Sales Engineer also works directly with customers, being owners, engineers and/or consultants, as well with all our internal departments and office locations worldwide.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • In conjunction with Business Development & Sales (BDS) management, develop concepts for a successful bid, based on the Unique Selling Proposition (USP) of our products and services.
  • Establish contact with the technical and purchasing personnel of our customers. Analyze a customer’s particular requirements and project bid specifications. Manage distribution of information to all relevant internal resources.
  • Determine and select suitable equipment from our product lines and develop process flow sheets in cooperation with internal resources for the project as needed
  • Coordinate the establishing of technical calculations by specialist engineers and establish technical calculations for equipment shown on the flow sheets.
  • Coordinate all project-specific engineering efforts with our office locations worldwide.
  • Prepare cost estimates based upon internal (proprietary equipment) and external (sub suppliers, contractors, consultants) sources.
  • Prepare budgetary or firm proposals. Define, revise and adjust scope of proposal in terms of scope of supply, options offered, pricing, delivery, terms & conditions in conjunction with Business Development & Sales (BDS) management.
  • Present proposal to clients in cooperation with BDS and Engineering Departments as needed.
  • Review Terms and Conditions with legal and commercial management.
  • Maintain and enhance contact with existing and potential customers.

 

 

Your profile

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mineral Processing or Mining Engineering
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in mining, aggregates, cement, industrial minerals or related industries
  • Ability to travel for business internationally, predominantly in the USA, Canada, Mexico, up to a maximum of 25% of time.
  • Proficiency with standard MS software

Preferred Qualifications

  • Basic knowledge of:
    • CRM software (MS Dynamics or similar)
    • Design software (AutoCAD, Inventor or similar),
    • Project scheduling software (MS Project, Primavera or similar)

Level Accountability

This level is regarded as a fully qualified professional where responsible and varied assignments are carried out with limited supervision.

  • Functional Contribution
    • Organizes a wide variety of responsible technical assignments and is able to complete broadly defined tasks with minimal supervision within established practices.
