Your responsibilities

A project controls professional who will maintain budgets, collects, analyzes, and forecasts project costs and controls project changes to support the Project Controls Lead and project management to manage costs against the baseling.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Understand the principles of cost control. Have a basic understanding of the relationships between the project controls functions—estimating, planning/scheduling, cost control, and risk management.
  • Understand cross-discipline relationships within the project team.
  • Understand the aspects and relationships of risk, cost, and quantities on the project.
  • With the guidance of lead project controls staff, execute proper controls to proactively support, monitor, and communicate budget, actual status, and forecast costs, labor hours, and quantities for projects 
  • Review key aspects of the project contract. Demonstrate understanding of project controls that support contract requirements.
  • Support the project team with change identification, documentation, and costing.
  • Collect and input timely and accurate cost data for cost report development. 
  • Understand the basic concepts of performance measurement.
  • Develop accurate and timely project cost forecasts with the guidance of lead project controls staff.
  • Identify cost control trends.
  • Understand the basic concepts of cash flow.
  • Create client and internal status reports that effectively communicate cost status and trends. Identify potential corrective actions for implementation.

Accountability:

  • Accountable to business group project controls management with matrix responsibility to project/construction management. Provide client and TKIS with cost information for meeting project financial goals.

Relationships:

  • Work with responsible business-group cost control management, project management, and project team to provide effective project controls. 

Authority:

  • Deploy and implement standard cost control procedures following the enterprise or business group procedures.

  • Be familiar with consulting/design project delivery processes and the application of cost control work processes.

Communications:

  • Possess good verbal and written communication skills. 

Systems:

  • Be proficient with spreadsheets and word processing software.
  • Be familiar with company-standard cost control systems.

Education, Experience & Certifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, construction management, engineering, quantity surveying, project management or related technical field. Experience in lieu of degree is acceptable.
  • 4+ years experience
