Engineered Plastics is a leading full line distributor and fabricator of industrial plastic shapes, adhesive products, rapid prototyping materials, and high pressure laminates, specializing in engineering plastics for the fabricator and OEM communities. The company operates over twelve warehouse locations and 13 sales offices in the United States, structured around local distribution service centers providing fast, efficient delivery to their customers. Their value-added processing system is customer-based, designed to give salespeople the tools they need to quickly and accurately process orders. The company’s nationwide logistics system allows next-day delivery to the majority of customers in North America.

Your responsibilities

Summary of Position:

Writes, tests, troubleshoots, and maintains the detailed instructions, that computers and operators must follow to perform their functions.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Review part prints and determine the method of processing, tooling and equipment to be used
  • Generate the necessary toolpath using Mastercam and other Programming resources.
  • Acquire the necessary tooling for the job
  • Generate appropriate set-up documentation for the set-up operators
  • Update, repair, modify, and expand existing programs
  • Advise and consult with QC, Management, Sales and Customers when tolerance or application issues arise
  • Follow machining process through first article inspection insuring that quality requirements are met while optimizing toolpath and productivity
  • Organize and maintain the integrity of part process and programming files creating permanent storage of proven toolpath for each part processed.

Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements:

  • Ability to read and decipher supplied part prints and assembly drawings
  • Experience with toolpath generation for both Lathe and Mill
  • CNC 4 and 5 axis machine programming
  • Working knowledge of Mastercam and other cad/cam packages

Preferred Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience operating mills and lathes
