Your responsibilities

thyssenKrupp Elevator Americas is currently seeking and experienced Operations Manager - Service/Report/Modernization to join our world class team in Midland, TX.

  

Essential duties and responsibilities:

 

  • Responsible for successfully managing all service, repair, & modernization operations to ensure that the departments function profitably and exceed the annual budgetary plan
  • Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions
  • Supervises superintendents and employees by providing direction and training, and communicating company policies, procedures and objectives, includes hiring, supervising performance, management, and administering progressive discipline
  • Ensures that NIM job audits are performed within 15 days of construction and modernization turnovers
  • Identify issues that could potentially affect the overall reliability of the equipment and providing feedback and recommendations for the improvement of future installations
  • Uses accounting reports and Map Point to review route management and callbacks, includes making necessary changes to improve profitability
  • Provides technical input to sales staff on the scope of work and materials needed to bid repair work. Includes calculating labor and material costs
  • Enforce Cancellation Reduction Program
  • Plans, directs and prioritizes elevator modernization jobs including manpower needs; utilizes project management software and other scheduling tools
  • Manages jobsites from survey through the completion of the modernization process documenting and advising on modernization project progress for work not included
  • trouble-shooting problems with mechanics, performing quality audits and meeting with customers to review progress
  • Administers company safety program, includes performing safety audits when necessary and stressing the importance of safety to all employees
  • Visits job sites and performs quality audits to insure that route work is being completed efficiently and in a cost effective manner
  • Work with branch manager and service sales managers to address customers’ need
  • Maintains up-to-date knowledge of all federal, state and local elevator industry code requirements
  • Maintains strong familiarity of company products by attending company training classes, and reviewing factory equipment updates and supplier goods, includes working with regional field trainers
  • Administer parts program for contract service and repair to meet budget expectations and customer satisfaction
  • Performs other duties as may be assigned

Your profile

  • Thorough knowledge of the elevator industry and general management methods within the elevator industry
  • Bachelor's degree (only to be substituted with extensive industry and management experience); or two years' experience managing on a branch departmental level; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form, and deal with several abstract and concrete variables
