Your responsibilities

This role will design, develop, implement and analyze mechanical components of the elevator systems in a research and innovation environment. The position focuses on development of mechanical parts and systems in research and proof of concept projects.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Designs mechanical components and elevator systems.
  • Works under general supervision, relies on limited instructions and pre-established guidelines.
  • Works well in a research and innovation environment.
  • Understands how to gather internal and external customer needs and requirements.
  • Reports to supervisor or manager.
  • Uses computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to perform assignments.
  • Reads requirements and specifications to fully understand the systems required for the components being used.
  • Evaluates and produces designs for the manufacturing of hydraulic and traction elevators.
  • Adheres to all safety procedures and company safety standards while working in the lab and test tower.
  • Adheres to the corporate compliance policy and ensures that behavior in the workplace is that of a responsible professional.
  • Contributes in a team environment.
  • Perform special projects and other duties as assigned.

 

Your profile

WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • 5 - 10 years of related experience preferred.
  • Comprehension of general mechanical engineering concepts required.
  • Experience with research projects is a plus.
  • Experience with innovation projects where requirements are not firmly understood is a plus.
  • Possess excellent customer service skills.
  • Demonstrated experience of working in a team environment.
  • Possess strong decision making abilities.
  • Possess effective verbal, written and presentation skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
  • Demonstrated experience in using computer-assisted design software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Blue Beam/Adobe Writer.
  • Demonstrated experience with hands on technical wiring and assembly of mechanical equipment a plus.
  • Demonstrated experience with the use of computer-assisted engineering tools and general knowledge of test equipment.
  • Possess the ability to closely follow instructions and pre-established procedures/SOP to perform the functions of the job.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelors of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering required.
