With roughly 7,000 employees at 18 production sites in seven different countries, thyssenkrupp Forged Technologies has sales of over one billion euros and operates over 50 forging press lines and more than 150 machining and assembly lines in seven countries. The product portfolio includes undercarriage systems for heavy machinery as well as crankshafts, connecting rods, pistons, chassis products, transmission systems and rotor shafts for the automotive industry.

Your responsibilities

Summary

The DM Maintenance Manager reports to the Head of Machining and is responsible for overseeing the maintenance department by ensuring the necessary maintenance of equipment is completed, equipment operates and functions as designed, and the plant operations are able to run smoothly. 

Major Areas of Responsibility

  • Manage maintenance department
  • Ensure equipment operates and functions as designed
  • Handle project and budget planning for department

Specific Responsibilities of the Job

  • Coordinate efforts amongst Group Leaders and shift Team Leaders
  • Responsible for budget control and planning for maintenance department
  • Attend production meetings and lead internal departmental meetings
  • Make daily plant walk-through to address issues and receive input
  • Provide mechanical and electrical advice to staff
  • Initiate projects and sees them through to completion
  • Schedule maintenance activities
  • Provide preventative maintenance solutions
  • Approve inventory of large parts
  • Collaborate with engineering department on maintenance activities
  • Follow up on machine issues and ensure critical issues are pushed ahead
  • Present timelines and costs of maintenance projects to top decision makers
  • Plan, assign, and distribute work
  • Establish priorities
  • Make hiring and promotional decisions
  • Prepare performance evaluations
  • Other administrative supervisory responsibilities
  • Other responsibilities and projects as specified

  • Maintains excellent OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness)
  • Drives results on TPM Projects

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or related discipline
  • Length of Experience: 5-10 years of experience in manufacturing maintenance

  • Excellent mathematical abilities including above average geometry; calculus is helpful
