Your responsibilities

Our Maintenance Lead will guide a maintenance team ensuring the proper inspection, troubleshooting, diagnosis, and corrective maintenance on manufacturing machinery and equipment.
He/she will be responsible for the completion of preventive and predictive maintenance and actively participating in initiatives designed to increase machine reliability and eliminate unplanned downtime in order to achieve optimum levels of quality and productivity while meeting operational deadlines and budgets.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Maintain a positive relationship with plant management, supervisors, and hourly employees
• Participate, support, and comply with all health, safety, quality, and Lean initiatives and requirements
• Actively pursue measures to reduce safety risks, maintenance problems, and increase the reliability of manufacturing machinery and equipment
• Enthusiastically provide support to plant management, supervisors, and machine operators in their continuous improvement initiatives
• Coordinate, assign, and review work of assigned team members
• Ensure timely inspection, troubleshooting, diagnosis, and quality maintenance on manufacturing machinery and equipment
• Conduct Root Cause Analysis to prevent recurrence of failures
• Coordinate with plant management and supervisors to plan and schedule Preventive and Predictive Maintenance at established intervals
• Accurately and thoroughly document all inspections, tests, and repairs to maintain in order to accurately account for costs, analyze preventive maintenance intervals, and maintain parts inventories
• Establish and maintain an accurate and effective spare parts inventory
• Review costs and take action to eliminate or minimize unnecessary spending including consumption of supplies and machine parts
• Coordinate with plant leadership to identify opportunities and take measures to reduce maintenance costs and waste
• Maintain storage systems, material handling equipment, and assigned facilities
• Coordinate and provide support to outside maintenance vendors, when necessary
• Prepare and track scheduling and cost of capital expenditures
• Perform installation of new equipment, as necessary
• Maintain a clean and safe work area
• Hire qualified personnel and ensure they receive all necessary training.
• Responsible for performance reviews and disciplinary action of employees, as necessary

Your profile

Education & Experience
• Demonstrated leadership and team building skills
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Minimum 8 – 10 years of experience leading industrial plant mechanical maintenance crews OR equivalent military experience.
• Demonstrated mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic aptitude, knowledge, and experience
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills
• Experience in Preventive Maintenance, Predictive Maintenance, and condition monitoring
• Experience with a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, operating manuals, and service manuals
• Ability to obtain and maintain certification to operate material handling equipment such as standard forklifts, side loader forklifts, 4 directional forklifts, and elevated work platforms
• Demonstrated project management, planning, and organizational skills
• Ability to work different shifts, as required
• Willingness to perform other duties, as required
Preferred Qualifications (candidates meeting these will receive preference)
• Experience and/or familiarity with Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM), Operator Driven Reliability (ODR), and/or Total Productive Maintenance (TPM).
• Experience and/or familiarity in Lean Manufacturing
• Experience and/or familiarity with 5S/6S
• Experience in maintenance of forklifts strongly desired
• Welding and fabrication skills strongly desired
