Your responsibilities

Position Overview:

The Engineering Intern will be assisting and supporting mechanical design activities for the Mechanical
Design department. The Intern will be preferably part of a project team and guided by senior engineers.

 

General Characteristics:

 Acquire technical knowledge and develops basic skills.
 Apply prescribed techniques and procedures in accordance with established criteria to perform assigned tasks.
 Perform routine technical work which does not require previous experience.
 Acquire an understanding of professional and ethical responsibilities.
Technical Responsibilities:
 Acquire technical knowledge so to properly apply industry codes and standards.
 Acquire technical knowledge of the design, fabrication, installation and operation of systems and
associated equipment integral to mining and chemical industrial plants.
 Acquire detailed knowledge of the mechanical design discipline focusing on developing an understanding of how engineering concepts are applied to solve problems.
 Provide technical assistance and coordinate with other project disciplines (as assigned).
 Creates assembly drawings, subassembly, design and detail drawings for mechanical components.
 Prepare drawings, layout, sketches and visual aids, for standard equipment within the scope of the
Mechanical Design group.
 Originates design deliverables of less complexity, utilizing 2D / 3D design tools for the production of
drawings.
 Familiar with the standard engineering office computer software including: Microsoft Office, specifically Word, Excel, Power Point, Visio.
 Familiar with CAD tools and 3D Modeling (Inventor or Solidworks prefered).
