Your responsibilities


Develops implements and coordinates policies and programs covering the following: employment, labor relations, wage and salary administration, orientation, training, talent management, workforce planning placement, benefits and employee services


Key Accountabilities:
• Develops and aids in the implementation of human resources policies and procedures and their dissemination through employee booklets, communications, and/or meetings
• Ensures conformance with legislated requirements and organization needs
• Investigates complaints of harassment and discrimination
• Keeps abreast of legislation affecting human resources; trains management and monitors company policies to ensure compliance
• Provide coaching and resources to employees and managers with respect to career development, compensation, staffing initiatives, performance management and employee relations in order to ensure a consistent and fair approach
• Assist in the development and implementation of programs that will drive increased employee satisfaction and commitment levels
• Monitor and review the performance appraisal process and continually develop as necessary, ensuring that annual appraisals are carried out in a timely manner
• Meets TKMNA Employee Attributes/Competencies
• Member of HR Management team to optimize HR processes and systems
• Partner with division leadership to recommend solutions that help the business meet their operating plan
• Participate with division leadership teams to optimize HR, development and talent management processes and employee solutions
• Develop tools, coaching, and training to support managers with performance management, talent assessment, and succession planning
• Engage and collaborate with functional teams to deliver HR programs
• Advocate best practices for employee welfare, engagement, and empowerment
• Support the development of effective leadership teams
• Work within established compensation guidelines for hiring and performance management

Your profile

Minimum Requirements:
• Bachelor’s Degree with a focus on Human Resources
• Minimum of 5 years working experience in a union or non-union environment supporting multiple
locations and business units
• Must possess excellent communication skills – oral and written
• Must work well with employees at all levels of the organization, and possess excellent
conflict resolution and emotional intelligence skills
• Must have prior experience working with executive level managers
• Must be familiar with legal compliance requirements related to labor and employment law
• Must be proficient with Microsoft Office programs, particularly Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• Must be able to travel up to 30% of the time

 

Preferred Requirements: 

• Professional designation or MBA preferred
