Your responsibilities

thyssenkrupp Logistics Inc currently seeking a FLEET SAFETY & DOT COMPLIANCE COORDINATOR to join our Safety Department. This position is responsible to assist the Fleet Safety Manager by assuring all aspects of thyssenkrupp Logistics fleet are operating safely and consistent with DOT/FMCSA safety requirements.

We are looking for hard-working individuals with transportation administration and management background, looking for a long-term career, ready to take the initiative and carry their own weight.

Experience in the trucking industry administration and management, and knowledge of the current legal base and DOT FMCSA Regulations is required.

Job Type:  Full-time   Hours: Monday to Friday   8 am -- 5 pm, 1-hour lunch break (non-paid)

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage all aspects of Driver Hours of Service Records in accordance with DOT requirements
  • Audit Driver eLogs daily for accuracy and compliance, including Violation Reports
  • Coordinate ongoing Driver Safety Training
  • Assist with the coordination and facilitation of Driver Safety Meetings
  • Manage all DOT required training records in accordance with FMCSA
  • Complete Employment Verification requests for terminated drivers prospective employers per FMCSA
  • Conduct a periodic internal audit of DOT driver qualification files and records to ensure compliance
  • Participate in New Driver Training, Orientation and Onboarding processes
  • Assist with Driver Annual Performance Review and Performance Improvement needs
  • Manage driver safety performance history checks and DOT drug/alcohol history test documentation
  • Assist with review of driver applicant qualification documents for accuracy and completeness
  • Perform driver applicant background investigation reports such as MVR’s, CDLIS, and PSP reports
  • Assist in managing Driver Safety Performance
  • Perform other duties and lead initiatives as assigned from time to time
