Your responsibilities

thyssenkrupp Elevator Americas is currently seeking an experienced Coordinator II - Estimating to join our world class team in Germantown, TN

This position prepares quotes and revisions for all Architectural Products, or all Hydraulic products pre-engineered and engineered within New Installation sales (NI), and or all Hydraulic products (Scopes and Specs) within after- market sales/Modernization (MOD). Estimating for thyssenkrupp Elevator and Vertical Express customers. Work with branch staff to provide complete estimates within specified lead times.

  • Review quote request from customer for completeness and accuracy of required information.
  • Review and make necessary changes to quotation pricing based on customer requests (revisions).
  • Prepare accurate, timely quotes to customers for New Installation and Modernization for traction and hydraulic models (pre- engineered and engineered).
  • Enter data information using estimating tools.
  • Correspond with branch staff to ensure completeness within specified lead times.
  • Identify and resolve problems during the quote process.
  • Clarify any discrepancies between requested products and the products that thyssenkrupp can provide.
  • Look for process improvement opportunities and participate on process improvement teams as requested.
  • Maintain a good understanding of the overall estimating process.
  • Utilize product knowledge to perform essential functions of the role.
  • Able to make good product/process/pricing decisions.
  • Understand the overall impact of customer requests.
  • Maintain related forms and files.
  • Perform special projects and other duties as assigned.

Your profile

  • High School and/or Technical School required.
  • Associate’s Degree or Bachelor’s Degree in a construction-related field preferred
  • Three or more years of related work experience, preferably in a construction-related field is required.
  • Requires a basic knowledge of updating SQDC. MDI boards.
  • Project Management skills required.
  • Strong customer service experience and abilities required.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills required.
  • The ability to read, interpret and comprehend and organize technical drawings, specifications and procedure manuals for (NI) and (MOD) preferred.
  • Requires the ability to work with mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages and ratios.
  • Must be organized and detail-oriented to manage multiple projects.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Outlook) is required.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong decision making skills with minimal direction.
