Your responsibilities

thyssenkrupp Elevator Americas is looking for an experienced Assembler Packer to join our world class team in Middleton, TN. The Assembler Packer is responsible for set up, assembly and the packaging of various components into sub-assemblies or completed units.

Essential duties and responsibilities:

  • Visually analyzes parts to be assembled and manually performs appropriate tasks, including drilling, reaming and deburring.
  • Uses periods of concentration and knowledge of equipment to fit and assemble parts varying in weight, size and shape into complete units according to print or instructions. Involves working within industrial shop-like environment.
  • Manually loads and unloads fixtures and checks operation of completed unit; involves lifting parts weighing up to 75lbs.
  • Packs various components for shipment to conform to specifications as required.
  • Wires and assembles door operator machines, assembles car hangers, and hatch hangers, door component assemblies, and operates automatic test equipment; requires ability to perceive color to distinguish color codes wiring components.
  • Receives written and oral job assignments and instructions from supervisor and fills out required paperwork assigned by production leader.
  • Use various tools such as pneumatic screw drivers, drills, nut driver, wire harness tooling.
  • Read and follow instructions as provided by computer generated programs on test equipment.
  • Operate crane and forklift.
  • Knowledge of barcode system, scan guns, printers, computers, and label machines.
  • Performs other various job duties as may be assigned

  • Requires ability to understand general arithmetic; speak and write in a clear and understandable manner for internal/external relations; understand verbal or written instructions ; requires ability to apply elementary aspects of trade principles to problems
  • Knowledge ordinarily acquired through attainment of high school diploma or G.E.D.
  • Mental Effort – Requires periods of concentration and attention to fit and assemble parts approximately 65% of the time; operation of process may or may not be repetitive although the operator is required to be alert continuously and give mental attention to work in process.
  • Physical – Requires walking/standing a majority of the time, sitting a minority of the time and lifting up to 75lbs. intermittently; involves repetitive stooping, forward bending and crouching frequently.
  • Environmental – Requires capability of performing essential job functions within industrial shop-like environment.
  • Manual Dexterity – Requires use of hands, arms and feet for repetitive lifting; use of hands and arms to operate fastener, stud welder, various hand and bench tools, automatic testing equipment and to record written information.
