Berco of America, Inc. is the exclusive distributor of BERCO undercarriage parts to the original equipment manufacturers in the United States, Canada, and Mexico. BERCO S.p.A., founded in Italy in 1920, is the world leading manufacturer of undercarriage components for earthmoving machinery.  Berco's range of products includes track chains, with and without shoes, track shoes, rollers, idlers, tension devices, sprockets, sprocket rims, seal groups, and track hardware.  These products are being supplied to all leading North American Manufacturers who use BERCO undercarriage components forfirst  installation on their machines.  BERCO also manufactures machines and equipment for the overhauling and repairing of the undercarriage, such as hydraulic portable presses for field maintenance, track presses, torque wrenches, and track winders for the assembly of track groups.

Your responsibilities

JOB SUMMARY:
The primary function of an Assembler is to learn all the basic job requirements for the timely and efficient building of track groups. This entails zipping hardware, placing shoes, reading a work order and torqueing hardware mechanically and by hand. The employee will need to know how to wind up and secure completed track groups.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Read and understand the information listed on a work order.
2. Identify the components listed on the work order to the pieces on a pallet or box.
3. Know and understand how to set a torque wrench for hand torqueing.
4. Know and understand how to read and set the automatic torque machine for various, different hardware.
5. Must be able to fill out torque sheets properly and completely.
6. Locate specific information on hardware boxes such as size and grade.
7. Must be able to wind track groups on the winder and secure them properly.
8. As an assembler you must verify each chain by counting the number of links to verify correct length.
9. Each employee must know the proper procedures/steps for oiling a chain.
10. Maintain a neat and orderly work area by keeping it free of debris and potential safety hazards including slips, trips and falls.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Performs other duties and responsibilities as required or requested.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis and up to 70 pounds occasionally.
