Through its Process and Resource Technologies, System Engineering and Marine Systems business units, Industrial Solutions partners with clients to provide solution packages that are optimally customized to their individual needs.

Your responsibilities

The Associate Contract and Change Manager is a key position within our Project Execution Team. The ideal candidate will provide support and guidance to the project execution team, which comprises of dedicated specialists for Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Commercial and Project Management, to ensure successful completion of the project within the parameters of time, budget and quality. This covers the entire project lifecycle from development through execution to close-out.

This position is based in our Atlanta office and will suit someone in a similar role and may require short-term assignments to our construction sites across North America.

Primary Objectives:

  • Assist in the delivery of the project within the time, budget and cash targets and to the required high quality standards, while optimizing profit margin.
  • Develop and maintain a constructive working relationship with clients, partners, subcontractors and internal line management to ensure smooth operation of the project.
  • Ensuring compliance with corporate and business directives.
  • Perform proper risk and opportunity management activities.
  • Participate in negotiations with clients, partners and/or subcontractors within pre-defined goals.
  • Share lessons learned and best practice suggestions.

Your profile

Requirements/ Qualifications:

  • Dedication to a safe and environmentally compliant project site.
  • A Bachelors’ Degree in a relevant engineering discipline (Mechanical, Civil Engineering, Electrical, Process, etc.).
  • A Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) or equivalent qualification is highly desirable, although not essential.
  • Experience within the cement industry preferred. Candidates with relevant experience in other industries (Chemical Process, Power, Oil & Gas, Mining, etc.) may be considered.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in Engineering and Project Management within an EPC environment.
  • Must have at least 2 years of experience and knowledge in regards to Construction Contract and Change Management
  • Has successfully worked in the field during large and complex EPC projects with values in excess of USD $200 million.
  • Experience with drafting and negotiating contract amendments and settlement agreements.
  • Experience with litigation, arbitration and alternative dispute resolution forums is highly desirable, although not essential.
  • Experience in working with geographically distributed project teams with diverse cultural backgrounds.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal & written.
  • Able to show initiative and decisiveness, work well within a team environment and possess strong negotiation skills.
  • Strong planning, organizing, and priority setting skills.
  • Familiar with the Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word and Excel.
  • Experience with Primavera (P6), Extension of Time (EOT) claims and forensic scheduling techniques.
  • SAP experience is highly desirable, although not essential.
  • Domestic and international travel to subsidiaries and project sites is an inherent part of the position.
