Your responsibilities

thyssenkrupp Aerospace NA  is looking for a Branch Planner  who will  manage product responsibilities including: purchasing, quoting, expediting, de-expediting and tactical supply chain management.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Buy Flag Review - Analyze and react to daily buy signals/forecast/customer demand
  • Review Customer PO, Customer Forecast, Average Historical Usage
  • Identify inventory support plan (i.e. buy, off-contract, transfer)
  • Identify and elevate potential critical item or support situation issue    
  • Inventory Management
  • Keeping inventory within min-max levels
  • Working Over-Max inventory (De-Expedite)
  • Identifying obsolete and excess inventory
  • Optimize inventory through right sizing initiatives. Identify creative support solutions to maximize allocation by combining requirements, “right-sizing” orders, etc.
  • Analyzing open order to prioritize shipments, when necessary
  • Identifying potential shortage/surplus of inventory and report to Management.
  • Inventory related special projects
  • Weekly Branch/Inventory Report to Management
  • Work with Branch on capacity planning
  • Coordinate supply schedule with Operations
  • Manage the Supply / Demand / Inventory Review with Ops
  • Coordinate any transfer related transactions (P2P and               Branch Transfer)
  • Provide proactive status reports and metrics to Management communicating:
  • Branch Inventory/Capacity Issues, receiving issues, etc.
  • Status of workload (backlog, special projects, etc.)

Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements:

  • Knowledge of purchasing procedures- normally acquired through the completion of a Bachelors degree in Supply Chain Management or other closely related fields.
  • Work requires a general understanding of company policies and procedures and the individual to maintain accurate records and files.
  • Work requires a basic understanding of supplier and general mill capabilities.  This can be acquired in 6-12 months through training and experience.
  • Interpersonal skills necessary to effectively communicate and work on day-to-day basis with purchasing mill contacts and internal customers.

 Preferred Requirements: 

  • 1-2 years purchasing experience
